Price of gift = how much they mean to you?

If someone bought you a gift and it's a certain price, do you naturally think about how much they mean to you? If someone bought you a cheap gift, do you assume that they believe you don't mean much to them and vice-versa?

  • If someone just chucks me some random-ass $100 gift card at a store I never go to, sure it's a lot of money, but they probably didn't think about me much when they got it. If someone buys me a little $10 trinket that they knew I would just love and they thought and thought about what to get me, I'd be truly touched.

  • If I had a boyfriend and they even just gave me a card or baked a cake or gave me a cheap necklace I would love it so much. Especially if they worked hard on it.
I would rather recieve a gift from the heart than some expensive diamond thingy... and I'm not just saying that.

  • It doesn't matter to me. I have one thing that I keep from every person I really care about that they've given me that means a lot.

  • It's not the gift that counts. It's the person.

  • Hiya,

I'd rather have a cheap gift I like than an expensive gift I don't. Fortunately I never get the latter. I wanted a pair of Jem earrings for years. The pair I had kept breaking so I got craft kits to make a pair but they never turned out right. Then one day I got a pair that had been made for me. They came to about £10. I wear them all the time – the only problem is they don't connect me to Synergy!!
