Maybe your friend is a bunghole? Oftentimes cats will notice that someone is a bunghole. You just might have to offer your feline friend some catnip then when kitty's guard is down ask kitty straight out if this friend of your is an actual bunghole.
In a pinch a chihuahua can give you some good insight on this one if you happen to know any chihuahuas.
