I work with this guy who is senior to me. I had been getting the vibe he liked me and about a year ago we got friendlier, lunch most days etc. Then over the summer maybe a drive out to the country for lunch and a walk on the beach.This happened at least once a week. Since Christmas we have been going to movies together are watching them at his place. he even wants to go away this summer. Yet he has never asked me out or tried to kiss me except for a pacl on the cheek. he will touch or rub me arm or hug me but nothing improper. He is very nice to me, texts and rings all the time, lends me stuff. I never go a day without some communication. He often compliments my clothes, hair legs etc etc. He sometimes`gives me a ride home. He even agreed to go to a play with some of my friends in a few weeks.
Everyone at work thinks we are a couple though we are not technically.
We are both single. Now he has a big job interview for promotion within our company tomorrow. He'll be the most important person in our branch if he gets it. Do you think this is why he has been so slow? He has had relationships before but I doubt he was so cautious or slow.

    If you mean branch as in military this makes sense. Since in the military you are not suppose to be sexual. If he is above you he might not want to seem like he is abusing his authority and taking advantage of you. Maybe wait till you are out and he might be a little more outgoing about it. It sounds kind of like you are talking about military. So it might not be platonic but careful.

    Maybe he is taking it slow. Maybe he does like you but he does not want to do anything you are not yet comfortable with. If you think he likes you as more and you like him ask him to kiss you maybe. See what he thinks about it. He might just be waiting to make sure you like him and thinks if he goes to fast he will upset you.

    I'm going out on a limb, but perhaps he thinks that if he makes a move, you'll reject him, and he'll lose you from his daily life.
    Sound reasonable? Keep in mind that I have no idea what I'm talking about.
