Do you know what? I wrote a P.S. to my own message saying exactly that about Space Odyssey and I changed my mind when I remembered that I'd had to read the book as well to make true sense of the film (so in that sense, the film didn't get everything across). However, I loved it anyway, and watching it again after reading the book absolutely blew my mind. It's a wonderful, wonderful film. Sci-fi normally doesn't get imaginative directing, just special effects. Thank God Kubrik got to direct it.
Can you believe it'll be fifty years old soon? I find myself wanting to watch it again right now.
Pick the best movie out.

Yea I am pleasantly surprised that Space Odyssey is that high on the list. It's an experience you can't pass up.
