People treating the nicer people worse

Is it my imagination or are there some people who are deliberately meaner to the nicer people for no reason other than that they get off on it? I'm not talking about these people being mean pricks to somebody who said or did something to piss them off, I'm just talking about the nicer people who didn't do anything wrong and the pricks insisting on treating them horribly because they seem to get some sort of fucking orgasm from doing it to ones who least deserve it.

        Yes, the assholes are the ones that usually mistake kindness for weakness, they think "I get treated OK and I'm a prick, so being a prick must be what gets me respect, and therefore being nice doesn't". However, that thinking is not totally accurate.

          My sister is a bitch, and she always seems to get what she wants from my folks. What's interesting to me is that she's been a model and worked as a Hooters girl, but she's only had a few boyfriends, because she's kinda mean. When she's on the phone with family she scares her dog, because she yells so much.

    I used to be really nice to everyone until somebody robbed a lot of money from me.
    She saw me as an easy target because I wasn't a total bitch.
    So I became a total bitch.
    I hated myself like that so I'm nice to most people again now, unless I see them doing the same tricks to other people, or unless they're just idiots.

      I guess I kinda understand your reason for your response, is that often it's someone who people are already bothering and upsetting are often the ones that ask "why do nice people get treated like shit?"
