Nothing other people do is because of you. If you're being called a slut by strangers and colleagues, it's really subject to their motives. Calling someone a slut is derogatory by definition, so it's just critical and disrespectful (Or self critical where you say you're a bit of one above). If you're happy with your current lifestyle you really shouldn't take it to heart, otherwise you might ask close friends for honest opinions why people might be taking it that way and measure them up against reality. You can be and do anything you want to, but it's unkind to yourself to let people treat you poorly. You should probably ask them to stop next time if it bothers you and if they don't stop just don't give them the time of day. You've got to love yourself when no one else will.
