It's not your destiny. You can eventually find someone else. It's good that you're not together with him. I grew up with kids who were raised in environments where one of their parents did not respect the other and now as adults they're all either in/out of jail or have problems with anxiety and suicide. Most of their problems could've been prevented had they been raised in a good family setting.
