A friend of a past girlfriend used to do it and then my girlfriend herself used to do it. My instinct was that it was a weird thing to do but it's no weirder than people in hospitals using bed pans or people in the past using chamber pots. Just because I live in the year I do, doesn't mean everything that happens right now the "correct" thing.
Although they are cups and people have to drink out of them. I hope they're at least cleaned to the point where they are sanitory again.
