My friend is 18 and his parents refuse to give him his ss card. He wants to get a passport, as soon as possible. Is there anything that can be done

Call the SS Administration and find out how to get a replacement.
If he’s worked anywhere he can ask his employer.

got the card to go with it.

Who cares why he wants a passport?
Its his right, hes an adult.

Hiya hun.. just call the social security office...and get a replacement card sent to a friends addy...then you can get it.. let them keep the old on.. also.. you can get birth certificate from your local health department...for around 12 bucks.. you are only allowed 3 social security card in a life time... just so you know
You have to go to a SS office for an interview to get one. Have to take ID papers with you and answer question as to where you worked, where you were born, mother's name. They won't just mail you one -- you have to go in.
