Obviously he doesn't need to apologize because you, regardless of wether he was wrong or not, will always break down first. Like another poster said, you may be just as wrong as he is, but you may not. If he's being pretty heinous and you keep on giving in like this, it can ingrain this dynamic into your relationship, enabling him and making you permaently subservient. Being the first to initiate peace and reconciliation is a good thing but don't do so by accepting blame that you don't believe is yours, it will just make you bitter and resentful.
