    Surely there is a practical reason for why they are supposed to wear them though?

      My guess is to make sure the panties arent bigger than the bloomers and they want nothing to show. Not even a panty line. So in that case, I say go without.

        Hm, I guess. It still seems weird though. Maybe it's just because I'm a guy but I really don't get it.
