Only one account should be allowed per ip

I keep blocking someone but they have a ton of accounts that they log into. I know its the same person because the things they say. I dont see why you need several accounts. Especially if used for trolling and voting your own posts up and agreeing with yourself. Especially if that person just posts insults on different accounts. If you check their IP im sure it is connected to aleast 15 active accounts.

Why ban regular users being goofy or talking about the wrong thing and allow that shit. Should just nuke their whole computer.

Some of us have to make duplicates when we get some of our features removed. Until we all have equal abilities on IIN we can then have a discussion on restricting ips. Fix a problem before making new ones.

    • You make a good point there. But what you're doing is different than being pathetic. you arent arguing witn people on 3 different accounts acting like different people and liking all your own posts like a weirdo.

Are you actually driven to post based on likes? I wouldnt be surprised all types of people come to IIN. If you need 2 likes on a comment or people agreeing with you to pump you up for the day. I'm not going to take that away from you.

I do not get motivated by more or less likes. I do it to cue up conversations because that's how I enjoy my free time. I often dont notice if someone has another duplicate account because they tend to ramble the same points making it easier to disregard a point that's already been said.

But what if two people who live together both want an account?

No, let IIN be the anarchy it was destined to be. If you want stringent rules I recommend Reddit.

That's because your opinions are often misinterpretations of the Bible.

The issue is that at least some people use various methods to hide their actual ip address. VPN services, Tor Browser, etc.

In my case all the admin will see is a common ip address of a well known VPN service. I also use a browser set up to limit information about my personal computer.

While there are sites that block users who use VPN sites and Tor browser (etc.) and require a direct log in from a specific computer based ip address.... those sites generally fail commercially (unless they have a very select clientele).

It is highly likely that the people with multiple accounts are similarly shielding their ip address, and the admin has no good way to identify them.

There are people on here who think similar things to other users. That's not proof enough at all. I don't get why you'd block anyone, either.

    • I normally don't I just have because almost all of my posts would get downvoted until I blocked the few people that did it. This caused me to lose features. And on top of that they would always post smart ass replies to me on one of their accounts. Always along the lines of "You're so dumb". Sometimes you dont wanna argue in that way all the time you just wanna have fun on here.

Have you considered that your posts got downvoted for a good reason? Not sure who you are or what your posts are, but that could be a reason.

I agree that smart ass replies are not always helpful, but instantly accrediting every downvote you get to one person is a bit far.

Some people have duplicate accounts so that they can have conversations with themselves in their own posts. It makes it look like several people are actually interested in their post. But it is soon evident that it is a one way conversation from the same person.

That's true, yes. As someone who uses the original Douay-Rheims, there are some words in that thing that aren't even considered words anymore, along with verses that, if read alone, could be considered to mean things that they do not mean.

I do not appreciate being called fake, and I'm not going to start calling other people fake.

I find it hard enough to find the time to keep up with one. I can't understand more than one. Options from what I understand are given or taken away based on your record.
That being said, I don't see the point in down votes. I've seen down votes on comments that agreed with another comment, one gets dv the other nothing or maybe even uv.
I limit myself normally to up votes I either agree or could careless what you think. I guess no vote is my down vote. I'll comment if I disagree enough to dv.

Well some people might not mind their wife/husband using IIN, but that was the situation I was getting at anyway with two roommates. If someone shows IIN to their roommate then their roommate won't be able to use it.
