  • Someone told me that old people drive slow because in their day the fastest speed a car could go was 40 miles per hour. I dunno if that's true or not. XD

    • My grandfather's 1968 Mercury regular raced down the road at 100mph. We may need to define "old"

    • That's what ive heard too, it's more that the cars in them days would be less safe at high speeds

        • suspension geometry hasnt changed too much but theres been advances and cars are just as heavy now as they were then

          the big advances are in brake systems and shock absorbers passenger safety systems and also another 50 yearsa r&d plus computer aided design & simulation

          the biggest single advance is tires though
