Because people like to make illinformed generalisations about entire generations of people based off something they read on the internet, or how their young spoilt niece acts, or how their granny's golf buddy dresses.
People are individuals and influenced by infinite numbers of things, and it irritates me no end when people think they know something about a huge chunk of the population across the world based purely off the year that they were born. It's moronic.
We're not talking about things that kill you here, that's not a good comparison. We're talking about making assumptions about people's personality and life choices based on their age, which are so often wrong. I think it's an ignorant thing to do but you're very welcome to do so if you wish.
If you think it's a good thing to pre-judge people negatively based on characteristics that they have no control over, such as the year they were born, then I'm not interested in continuing this discussion. Have a good day

It's not moronic to generalize, it's a defense mechanism that serves humans well.
Not all spiders and snakes are poisonous but I am not going to play around with any of them.
On the contrary to your statement, it's moronic not to generalize and walk around with your head in the clouds.

It's the same base instinct to categorize, make assumptions and generalize. It's an innate human quality and it has a purpose.
