Well maybe they don't execute gays but who knows what they'd do if they were the government as in fundamentalist muslim countries?
How are christians 'demonized' by the secular 'majority'? To give only one example, do you regard the exposure of the countless 'men of god' who've sexually exploited and abused both adults and children in their congregations as demonising these disgusting and in most cases unrepentant creatures? And I won't start on the financial exploitation by evangelists ....
I don't agree with child abuse by anyone, obviously. But unfortunately it happens in and outside of religions. They can view things such as gay marriage and abortion as religious persecution.
So is that your view, that gay people marrying and women refusing to carry an embryo which will become a baby she has to give birth to, amount to religious persecution?
If so, please explain, if not don't spread such bullshit any further please. Personally, I don't believe it's a coincidence that the current beatup and furore over gay marriage is happening when more and more religious figures are being exposed as serial sexual predators: it couldn't be to distract us from the disgusting behaviour of religious leaders, could it????
They - fundamentalists of any religion - see what they want to see but given that their religions encourage them to turn off their brains and accept what they're told on faith, there's no point in expecting rational debate from them.
In Australia right now we have a tiny group of idiots opposing a program specifically designed to stop bullying of LGBTI students by ranting on that it's trying to convert kids to being gay or trans and what's worse, our PM has just agreed to a review of the program as a direct result of this crap. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
I've lived here for my entire life (that's nearly 70 years) and you are talking total rubbish.
I can assure you that the bigots are a tiny vocal minority, as proved by the large rallies recently in support of refugees and the tiny counter rallies by the racists. What's more, in real life most of us don't talk like Crocodile Dundee, although some of us do put it on for tourists, especially american ones, who are very gullible. We don't have kangaroos hopping down the main streets of cities either.
Offensive or not?

I'm not saying that. I'm saying that's how they see it. Much like gays feel about trying to be changed.

I'm pretty sure the "tiny group of idiots" you're referring to is the entire Australian population.

Not scared of stereotypes, are you?
