I am male, I can't think of a single "friend" I have had that was female, unless it was also a GF or my wife's friend...and, then, I don't consider them "my" friend, it is her or our friend.
Any girl I have been attracted to be "friends" with I have either dated or had sex with, so, that is really different than just "friends".
I don't really think it is possible for a guy to be only "friends" with a girl, unless of course he is gay. We pretty much want to bang girls, hard to be their "friend" and get to that level.
It isn't to say I am not "friendly" with females...just, when I think of someone as my friend, they are a guy.
