Obsessed with diabetes

I don’t have it, but I think it’s the most fascinated disorder of the human body.

I’ve felt this way since I first heard about it as a child. I guess it’s interesting to know something sweet like candy is flowing in your blood, or that’s how I thought of it at the time, but I’ve matured!

Albeit serious, Diabetic Ketoacidosis has fascinating symptoms, mainly fruity-scented and sweet urine. I’ve read online a patient with Ketoacidosis has blood sugar levels so high their urine hardened on the floor.

Since it’s become much more manageable the general public forgets how serious it used it be. It was universal fatal until insulin therapy. I still consider it one of the worst disease’s since it affects basically every major organ.

Plus there’s a link between mental health disorders, such as Bulimia and Schizophrenia due to Diabetes. Also, if a diabetic is unfortunate enough to have their leg amputated they can develop phantom limb, which despite the leg gone the patient feels it as if the leg is still there.

I wonder if people with diabetes taste sweeter with all that sugar running through their blood.

Fascinated? The word I would use is depressed. It's an epidemic here in the US and nobody wants to do shit about it.

    • An epidemic is an outbreak of an infectious disease. Diabetes is not an infectious disease.

Read the second definition sherlock. Should I tell my public health professor she's wrong? We had an assignment on a paper about the obesity epidemic.

    • But you can have fruity breath and blood sugar levels at the sane consistency as soda in the most severe cases.

So? Fascinating maybe but that's the least of my concern when it wrecks people's health and contributes to thousands of deaths. Rape is fascinating, murder, cheating on your spouse. All very fascinating! But if that's the first description of it you think of than your priorities are off. In my opinion of course!

        • When they get diabetic kidney failure it’s even more fascinating, since the combination of high blood sugar and undiluted kidney waste make people’s teeth rot out♥️
