Not eating, is this anorexiea or is this normal?

I don't like eating because I think I have heavy-set and a lot of my friends are really skinny. Food makes me want to throw up. I eat a maximum of one meal a day, and when I do eat that one meal, I eat little portions of it. Also, when I eat, I feel gross and like I am getting even bigger! I weigh about 98-101 pounds and I'm 5'4 and a half, but when I look in the mirror I feel like I am 200 pounds, not over exaggerating. I have been like this for three years. Is this normal, or is it anorexiea?

  • girl, you need to take a nutrition class. i'm sure you look fabulous. actually weighing 98-101 lbs for your height is unhealthy. limiting yourself to one meal a day is starving yourself. you may need to go see someone about this issue. not eating is weakening your heart. why don't you eat but exercise regularly. you may feel better about yourself! you have to love who you are.

  • This is serious anorexiea. One meal a day is very bad for your health. And if you feel fat even when you look skinny, this is even worse, because it will make you starve yourself. Please, see a doctor.

    • You can't generalize whats she's said as anorexia, its actually quite unsympathetic to do so. She is showing some symptoms of anorexia this doesnt nessecarily mean she is anorexic, nor 'SERIOUSLY'! She is a healthy weight.

      If you have an eating disorder it would most likely be EDNOS. (Eating disorder none other specified) meaning you show some symptoms. It is probably best you go to a doctor and talk to them (:

  • it literally pains me to say this, but i am shorter and heavier. but for my height 8-10 stone is considered healthy. You are not, get help preferably a phyciatrist.

  • I don't mind being 70 kilos, which is a skinnyish weight, makes me strong (just an opinion). I recommend for a normal person like you 3 meals a day and half a plateful of food in every meal, and no snacks or in-betweens.

  • im "5'3 and 175 pounds im not fat im curvy and dnt mind it though sometimes i do and i dont eat very often and when i do its not alot its like fruit and i think food is disgusting and so do some of my friends

    I suggest that you get yourself to a doctor as soon as possible. You are way underweight. At your height and depending on your age you should be betwixt 8 to 10 Stones; {112 to 140 lbs.}

    I am 5'4.5" and age 55 and I weigh 10 Stones; {140}. My doctor said that was perfect.

  • If you want to be skinny , Don't eat as much.

    But eat healthy and eat 3 times a day . Coz if u don't eat 3 times a day ur metabolism won't be working whole day.

    And make sure you get enough sugar input. So that you won't be dizzy or dull-minded

  • You've got it all wrong. You could lose 20 pounds and you will still see that 200 pound person in the mirror.

    Food is not your enemy, it's your brain. You are seriously unhealthy and depriving you body of food deprives your brain as well, creating a viscous cycle of self loathing. Please, seek professional help.

  • I put "What...?" because in the story you say that you are 98-101 pounds, and that you have been doing this for three years...but it the poll, two of you options are,"How much do you weigh?" and "Depends on how often you do this." So, after three years we can only assume you do it often.
    Though, to answer you, I would say you have a pretty bad problem. Everyone here will tell you that it sounds prett bad. I would go see a doctor right way, it is only going to get worse, and if (and by the sound of it, you do) have anorexiea you yourself are never going to see the problem, your going to need professional help...Read the last four letters of TT454, and Please see a doctor.

  • You sound like your really skinny and gross T_T I had a problem with anorexia, (I was a vary fat child, noone really paid attention to me, the ignored middle child who kept to themselves and I never got out of the house. just stayed home, cleaned and did the chores) I lost 20lbs, I was sick looking, completely depressed and suicidal though, did NOT enjoy or take pride in loosing the weight, cuz i still felt fat and disgusting, after a while it wasn't about loosing weight, I just HATED food. Everyone was worried about me but i shook them off, noone left me alone, (I resented them but now I am completely greatful, cuz I was really planning on killing myself :/) They bought me some new clothes, took me out places, Tryed to make me feel pretty at any cost, plus made fun of me endlessly that way i could be embarrest of the habit and stop. It worked to some extent, It just opened my eyes to how wrong starving myself was, so little by little, I slowly started to eat again -completely disgusted by the food, but i forced myself- and the worst part about it was, I gained back all the weight VARY easy! and I made SURE i wasn't eating greasy food! When I stepped back on the scale, I was HORRIFIED! A thought came into my head, "You always COULD stop eating again.." I Almost slapped myself for thinking that! I was finally happier with myself, I wasn't about to go back! So I just started eating less, Chicken breast became my favorite food, and I started working out alone at night. Gradually i started loosing weight! I felt WAAAYY more awesome about myself, I always had a smile on my face, I looked healthy, my hair is rich and full and I had a nice glow to my face, instead of a pale joyless one. sure i was still fat but It didn't matter because i felt good :D That was a few years ago, and i'm NOTHING like i used to be! Quiet and withdrawn turned into loud and out going lol Now Noone can ignore me, even if they tried! Since then I have lost 45lb. and I look GOOD!! lmao I would NEVER starve myself again, It's not worth it! Believe me! Starving yourself is the Lazy, disgusting way to doing it :D
