Nose always running

So whenever I'm in like cold air or I feel cold my nose will run. Sometimes when not too. This happens any time of year or anywhere. Also the back of my throat always feels like it has mucus or something in it all the time.

Is any of this normal?

  • I have read a story about a girl who's nose kept running and she never thought anything of it. One day she collapsed and ended up in hospital and it was her brain leaking. It may sound strange, but if it doesn't stop, be sure to get it checked put by your GP

  • Talk to your Doctor or Nurse. Even a Pharmacist may help.

  • My dad says that people's noses run in the cold so their airways don't dry out.

  • I get it in cold air too. It's normal for some. But then, I have all kinds of allergies and I never know what's causing it and when.

Interesting fact for you, though - only one nostril at once runs and the body cycles through them every 10-15 minutes. It may seem like both are running because of the residual stuff but it really is just one at a time. Weird, eh?
