Music in the future will be even more terrible than today's music.
All diseases will be eradicated for the rich. People would be augmented by cybernetic implants and life duration could be extended to 200 years.
The poor will keep on struggling here in a self-destructive dictatorship. That is if it doesn't all end in a war.
But that's in the distant future...
In the near future we got a fuel crisis. Fossil fuels will become expensive, but we will continue to be milked as long as we can pay up. Then we will suddenly learn that there are good batteries and hydrogen engines available after all. Possibly another war in the middle east and more and more ways to dumb down people, so the distant future scenario can happen faster.
