Normal to see red eyes at night in the dark

Look..... i'm not trying to say anybody here is a liar or delusional...but i have so many scary shit happen to me and my family in my life..that i figured id tell 1 of my experience with relation to this...

my older brother cousin and I were at the time 6,8,and 11 years old when this happened... we all wanted to sleep in my parents living room. anyways at about 3am local time we all heard our piano started to play by itself and we all had made a little tent and we all asked with our eyes closed "whos playing the piano your gonna get us in trouble" and we all said none of us were....and yet it was playing 15 feet from us... we all got scared....and then my older cuzin said that we should just go to our room and sleep there. anyways....the moment we threw the blankets off we all saw the same things standing about 15 feet from us... two figures with glowing eyes...and we all were so scared that we didnt want to go wake the parents up but just run straight to the bedroom and lock the door... so ya....call it what you want...but for us 3 to see the same exact thing and hear the same exact thing.....you tell me the odds....

omg, yall are freaking me out. im scared of the dark anyway. i wont walk in a dark room or go out at night by myself. is that normal

I know how crazy this all sounds, but I would like to comment on this particular discussion.

I am 37 years old and I am very open minded about things. I take no meds of any kind and have never had any issues with anything like this before, that is until recently.

About two months ago, at around ten P.M. I was wide awake in my living room. I stood up from the couch to stretch. Behind that couch lies a huge bay window facing a neighbor's house. There are no lights whatsoever between the two homes. That house at the time was empty. In any case, as I stretched; I saw two very red eyes staring at me through that window, not even a blink. I looked away thinking I was just seeing things, but it was still there. Everything about being a human ceast to exist in that moment. I couldn't move, breathe, or scream. Finally, I looked away again for about ten seconds and it was gone. I have never seen this before that night. Never even heard of it before, but again, two nights ago. It happened again.

What do I make of it? I couldn't say really. Both times, I was wide awake. It really does give you that creepy crawly feeling for sure. I was curious after the second time and decided tonight to just tinker online about it and found this site. I'm still not sure what to make of it, but as everyone else here. I would love to know about the unknown more so than ever before.

Many here have mentioned this happening at bedtime and as a young child. Anyone have anything to comment on this one, because I know I would love to hear it.

This happen to me when I was 32 years old. I am a Christian with a rational mind. I never rally put much thought into this all till it happen to me. One time at night in my apartment I was brushing my teeth before bed when out of the corner of my eye I seen this grey clocked figure go by the bathroom door three feet from it. I paused brushing and my my eyes not my face to see as it went by slowly. That did freak me out made my blood drain from me so to say. That happen 3 days before what happened to me.

I woke up from a dream and I notice everything was pitch dark could not see anything. I was thinking to myself about the dream and I was wondering why I could not see the small light from my bathroom. So I thought I must be still dreaming and need to wake up. Right them I felt something try to enter my boy and take over. The only way I describe it. I tried to call out for Jesus but something was keeping me from saying it. I knew what I wanted to say. JJJJ...jjjjj.je.. Finally after several tries I woke up sitting up screaming Jesus.

A couple days later it was summer time and I went to bed with out a shirt on. I woke in the middle of the night a little cold. So I sat up, rubbed my eyes and noticed my blanket was all the way at the end of the bed. so I leaned forward and pulled it up over me half way. I was laying thinking Oh great I have to get up to pee. So I went to sit up and I got half way up when I felt something push me back down to the bed. I was like "what the heck?" I went to move my arms and they were pinned. I looked down and saw noting there. All the sudden these red eyes appeared a foot above my stomach. It had this curly grinning smile and ugly teeth. That was not freaked me out. Soon then I head these light whispering sounds. Just then I felt tongues licking up my chest and arms. It was not till I felt one licking my ear that I got freaked out and upset. with all my might I sat up and rebuked it in Jesus's name.

I was so freaked out over hat just happen I had every light on in my apartment. I had to call a older friend of mine 4 am in the morning. I told him what happen and he said it was a demonic attack and I already told him about the grey cloaked figure. He suggested I needed to get some anointing oil and rebuke satan and demons through out place and put anointing oil over each door way. As a Christian I never really though those things were sort of true or only happen in movies, but when it does. >_< I never had anything like that happen to me since then.

It was not Sleep Paralysis.

Those are demons. No benevolent entity would ever present itself in that way.

I had stayed at my friends house saturday, and we had gotten out of her house at around, id say, 12:30 sunday morning. she said she had a creepy feeling after walking down the porch., we got in her car and she backed out of the driveway, andturned to the right, as we proceeded to go, i turned my gaze back toward the house. I had seen it only for a split second before the car had driven to far for me to see it anymore, a pair of, what i saw as orange eyes glareing over the raised porch, as soon as i looked in its direction its glare snapped at me, and i was frozen in the car., my friend asked what was wrong, but until we were a maile or so down the road, i coudent speak or move. I asked if she had just seen what i had seen, she said she hadent becasue she was driving, but she asked me if it was a pair of red eyes. I was taken by complete suprise, but then she explained she had seen them before. this was my first experiance like this ever, and im not sure what to do.

I can't believe there are so many others who experienced this same thing, and in a similar manner such as myself when I was young. I was about ten and I will never forget it. Since that night I havnt experienced something so real and scary, and will never forget those red eyes on my seiling, even though I only got a glimpse. It was dark and there were two red eyes that seemed to glow while they looked down at me. I immediately ran out of my room and didn't go back to sleep there- often sleping on the couch instead. I know it is silly to say it is normal, but with so many others seeing the same thing, I wonder if there may be some connection. Creeeeepyyyy for sure.

If you know you saw it I believe you, I was search for red eyes on the internet to see if there is any history behind seeing them. I've been watching ghost adventures lately and am really interested to illuminate my past. My story... I was 10 or 11, I lived in a house that had was a former home for the mentally ill.. my room was one of the back three down a long hall way that came to a T and mine was the one on the right... we moved in when I was 6 and felt creepy as hell every moment I spent in this back wing... I slept with my bed facing down the hall and a 100 watt light burning in the closet, often sleeping with my eyes open. I would come out of the room and feel something at the door way hovering over my shoulders, it felt cold and had a really bad vibe, I would get five feet out of my room and felt something try to grab me (not physically but if felt to get near me and want me some how) and I would bolt down the rest of the hallway from there, about 15 feet in my run the feeling would go away... my mom would not go in the 3 back room if not absolutely needed for the first 6 months we lived there. One night I turned on my light and layed down.. not even 30 seconds after I laid down I saw two very clear distinct red eyes looking at me from about 2 feet back past the doorway, I freaked out covered my head and screamed, I looked back about 10 seconds later and it was gone. I had convinced my self that I had dreamed this growing up to survive, I knew I was lying to my self. A few months ago this delusion was shattered. I was talking to my mom and she told me she had seen the same red eyes once before. This brought shivers to my arms as my mother is not the kind to lie and make things up, she said she had not said anything before for my sake. When she saw these eyes they were in her room in another section of the house. I lived in that house for 9 years and never once slept decently. I changed rooms trying to get comfort, and found the middle room the easiest. The room opposite room I had for the first 6 years had another feeling in it... I don't know if I am sensitive to the paranormal but I could swear I could feel something looking at me all over this house, but in another room it was always coming from the middle of the room by the closet. You people have to learn to believe it but deamons and dead spirits are real. I have seen them on countless occasions, most spirits dont intend to harm anyone but the like playing games w/ people. Demons are those figures that countless people have explained w/ the red eyes, and unfortunatly they want you dead. If you still dont believe go to the cemetary at 3AM in the morning and i garuntee you will change your mind. If you stay with god then you are pretty much safe from these wondering souls

I had this happen to me when I was around 8. I was staying over at a friend's house. She lived in an old converted barn type home in Rappahannock Virginia. I had stayed there before and always was creeped out by the place but tried to put on a brave face because I was 8 and wanted to start having sleepovers and what have you lol. Anyway last time I ever stayed there she and I were sleeping in her single bed which faced the hallway that had the bathroom and went all the way into the main room of the barn they used for storage. Her guinea pig kept me up and I couldn't fall asleep. So I looked down to the foot of the bed to check out what the dumb thing was on about and was frozen in fear and long forgot the dumb guinea pig lol. Staring back at me from down the hall in that big main room were these huge red eyes. I mean I would love to believe it was her cat but the size just makes it impossible. They were massive and at first I was like nah they're taillights or something but we were in the country and there was no one around but the 3 of us and then they started kind of moving like a head was tilting or something. I slowly laid back down and brought the blanket up to my nose and stayed like that until the sun came up and her mom woke up. I made her call my mom before she even made her coffee and got the fuck out of there. Never went back.
I am 32 now and I can't ever find anything telling me what I saw or even an idea besides demon. Now that I've found this I want to know why so many of us saw this when we were around the same age? Were we just being played with? Were we being marked or something? All this time and years later and I am still freaked out by what happened to me. So much so that this is the first time I've ever spoken about it. I never told my friend her mom or my mom not even my husband.

When I was 13 years old, I had an argument with my dad. I went to bed very angry and i was tossing and turning in bed all night. At about 4 or 5am I was laying there looking up at the cealing, when I suddenly heard a creaking noise at the foot of my bed, I quickly lifted up my head to look, and that's when I seen it, it was a dark shadow entity with glowing red eyes just sitting there watching me, when I looked at it closer it ducked down into the corner as to try to avoid being seen, but it was to late I had already seen it. I yelled at it "HEY YOU SON OF A BITCH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE? I muat have caughr it off guard because it looked startled, I quickly preceded to jump out of bed and I ran up on it like a ninja and reached over and poked its glowing red eyes with 2 fingers like in the 3 stooges. At first it squiled like a dog, then it started growling and hissing at me as it backed into the closet trying to unass the situation, but before it could leave, I grabbed the flashlight and shined it on the creature. I seen its hideous face and body, it was a deformed humanoid looking creature partly covered in black hair and black scales. It had a tail, sharp claws and sharp teeth with horns on it's head, it also smelled like shit. As it once again began to back away towards the closet, I turned on the lamp light and chased after it and as fast as Chuck Norris I karate chopped the mother fucker in the back of its neck real hard (I'm a 3rd degree black belt in Karate) causing it to shit itself in fear. Next, I bitch slapped it across the face and then kicked it in the crotch so hard that it fell down to the floor crying, but that didn't stop me, I laughed and then I happily beat the shit of it for about 5 minutes straight. After that I tied it up to a chair with a rope and I bashed it real good with the hammer that I had stored under my bed for just such an occasion. I continued to beat the living shit out of the unholy creature of darkness for a while longer until suddenly out of nowhere it cloaked itself and vanished into thin air like a ghost. About a few weeks later, one night I went to bed as usual, when suddenly I heard it skulking around my room again, but this time I was prepared, I had my hammer ready and waiting, while I pretended that I was asleep, even faking snoring, it had no idea what I was planning to do, I used the element of surprise to my advantage, as soon as it got close enough I seen its red eyes looking at me, I sprung up out of bed and yelled "SURPRISE MOTHER FUCKER" and threw the hammer🔨 at it as hard as possible aiming for its noggin and I busted it square in the face 👹, right between the eyes, it was hilarious 😂. Needless to say, the little bastard never came back again after that night.

So I seen glowing red eyes while fully awake not sleep paralysis. Here's my story!
Back when I was deepest in depression a few weird things happened. I have this bunk bed I had since I was a kid with a bed under it like a T with a cage under it as tall to stabilize it.About age 17 sleeping in the bottom bunk where I can see the bunk an cage fully, in a crack where the cage meets bunk there was red eyes staring at me. I knew it glowed because it was glancing off the wood around it. I didn't feel fear or stuck in place I just stared back.. was pretty depressed then admittedly an I just fell asleep eventually kinda like ahwell lol. Now I dont see stuff like that even not in the right mind/sleep paralysis. Feel like it just hung around for a midnight snack of deep awful energy heh. Around same time lots of.. head messaging? Before I could sleep id feel finger trailing all over my scalp an this went off an on for years some times every night for a week!. Also biggest bird that I cant find a picture of online on my front deck railing staring into my home. Me an my mom seen it cant explain it. Ah an one last thing it kinda started with my mom. She seen 111 allot. Like every chance for it to appear it did and more. Soon after I started mentioning I was seeing 111 all the dang time an she went a bit shocked an told me. When I worked at BK fryer/timers an times like 1:11pm I would look at bam there it is. ALLOT this is still going on for 8+ years prolly not so much now I suppose. Searched a bit on it angel numbers? Thats about all I know, not super religious Bible thump yaknow more spiritual find balance from negativity etc. Had to to survive. Throw in my moms haunted house covers ripped off of her childhood I kinda believe most of this ^^. Anyway thats my long winded story of supernatural happening in my life.

Same when I was a kid living upstairs in the house my parents bought 1 night as a kid around 7 to 10 not sure of exactly age, I was sleeping woke up had bunk beds in my closet I looked seen red eyes looking at me not huge but human size but not human looking starring at me , I closed my eyes looked again still there looking at me I sat up in my bed looking back at the eyes coming from my closet ' i am 32 now parents still live in same house but in downstairs appt , till this day I will never forget as a kid seeing thouse red eyes! 7-9 years of age. Stayed at my grandparents house. Slept with my cousin back to back that night. Woke up randomly (unsure of the time/but pitch darkness covered all). approximately 12 feet away, towards the entrance of the room-placed in the position where a door stop would be/2-3 inches off the floor/piercing not giving off ambient light. I was very young. About 9-10 years of age staying the night at my grandparents house. The house always felt odd but comfortable. It was like stepping into "That 70's show". Shaggy carpet, grandfather clock, old piano, you name it. But besides that the house was kept up nice. Grandpa was a cryptologist during Vietnam and my grandmother was a salty take crap from no one kinda gal.
My cousins were in town from Iowa, so sleeping arrangements were tight. I slept with the oldest of my cousin's in the room near my grandparents.
I randomly woke up in the middle of the night, back to back with my cousin, with the blanket over my head. I pulled it down to get a quick breeze because I was scared of the dark at a young age, I always slept with the covers over my head.
*** Near the bottom of the door,(12 feet away) not more than 3-4 inches off the ground, I met the gaze of 2 red piercing eyes.(not glowing or radiating on any back drop ) They didn't move, simply watching me. Just looking back into my eyes. I froze and pulled the blacked back over my head.*****
Since that day I regret not standing up, or reacting to those eyes. That regret moves me to now confront all fears I face in the dark. Though, never have I had an experience like that again.

i seen a dark figure come into my room the door was wide open i seen its red eyes it was calling my name whispering it tryed to jump on me when it tryed to jump on me i jumped over it so it missed me and i ran out of that room and went where the other family members where at and i never seen it again thank god

I googled this because I saw the same type of thing when I was little. I've talked to people about it too some have seen something similar some haven't. All were when we were younger too. Let's just say it has me with goosebumps every time I hear or read about it.

I stayed at my friends house out in The country when I was younger (probably around 7 or 8), I went down into their dark basement where there was just a bunch of stuff being stored. I looked to the far corner and there's red glowing eyes staring back at me I screamed and ran back up the stairs and got my friend and made him go downstairs with me to see it. It was gone, he told me he'd seen it before and needless to say I was scared so bad I couldn't even go back to their house ... In the daytime even. I believe that the thing is very, VERY REAL.
To me, if you haven't experienced it you can't really have an opinion.. Have goosebumps even typing about it right now because its reminding me of the image that's burned into my head of it.

I have been successfully able to keep them at bay by keeping plants in my room. Plants create a protective field around those that care for them. I haven't had any issues with sleep Paralysis. When present, they seem to allow only benign beings to come in. If you look at traditional cultures, there were certain types of plants that had properties to keep evil spirits away.

You all never thought that maybe just maybe it was your own red eyes reflecting? Happens. Sometimes looking inward instead of some unknown outside thing is all.

I've been bothered with red glowing eyes all my life, since I was 5 years old.
I remember sleeping in my parents room as a child because in my own room I never got any sleep. I saw red eyes in the mirror which reflected from the window outside (2nd floor).
Anyways, in my parents room, which I usally went down to (1st floor) to try get some sleep there is this "baby bed" with gitters or what ever you call it, "bars". I slept in that bed and when I closed my eyes for a few secconds I opened them again and red eyes, right infront of me staring intense at me. I didn't get scared since it looked like cat/dinasour eyes with those small long pupiles.
Since that day I've kept seeing this thing. I've got this thing checked out at a doctor, but nothing is mentaly wrong with me. It's not a problem, but very very scary when I suddendly look around in a dark room and red eyes are staring at me, glowing.
I would say it's an effect of something, like the "Bloody Mary" ghost. You hear about her, think about her and you see her because you make a picture of her in your head and then become scared or something which calls the image to display in your mind.
Like... if you stare at the "Jesus Picture" (black and white picture) and then look at something else, example a white wall you will see Jesus in colors.

Other than that what we all could be seeing is the Night Crawler from Rome.

you know i never thought anyone else experienced what i did at 4 years old, but one night i had a bad dream and ran to my mom and step dads room and crawled in-between them. All was good fell back asleep in there bed then i woke suddenly with my mom ad step dad not in the room and a dark figure standing at the end of the bed with glowing red eyes at first i was terrified, then remembering that my mom kept scissors beside her on the nightstand so i slowly slid my hand over to them and the figure did not move just breathed very heavily, then i grabbed the scissors and threw them at the dark figure right at its shadowy head and they hit it and hurt it somehow when it crouched in pain with a big moan i ran out of the room down the hall to my sisters room and no one was there so i ran down the stairs to the basement were my brothers slept still no one not a single family member was in the house so i sat at the bottom of the stairs the only thing that was around was my black cat midnight he came out of my parents room and down the stairs and sat with me ,and the next day i awoke were i had sat on the stairs and the scissors had coagulated blood on them my mom was ad-omit

No, it's NOT normal at all! (Well duh xD)
But when I was 10 and I went to Cambodia (Yes, I'm Cambodian) my uncle, his wife and kid and I went to Angkor Wat. A veerryyy old temple said to be haunted by tormented spirits. (Destination Truth came here and GOOGLE it if you don't know) I was alone from everyone else (Still don't know why they let a 10 year old walk around by himself) and a bone... A HUMAN femur to be exact dropped out from just a random place in front of me while I was standing in some type of pit. I thought it was a monkey that dropped it, but there were no monkeys around me. I picked the bone up and it just out of nowhere started raining. Later at night, I kept feeling followed and red eyes kept appearing out of every dark corner... During the middle of the night, I started bleeding and I found Khmer (Cambodian language)carved into my leg.
Sounds like I was just a stupid kid, but I actually have a picture of my leg from that night.

I personally believe that this kind of thing is normal. I had a similar experience... Spirits, demons, whatever, they love to mess with you. As a child, I used to see things, like shadows in the dark that I know weren't supposed to be there, I even used to feel like I was being dragged off my bed.

I was lying down in bed one night, facing the wall, trying to go to sleep. Something told me to turn around, so I did. These red glowing eyes, stared down at me; I ignored themed and turned around to try to sleep again. After a couple seconds, being a young child and curious, I decide to turn around again. When I did, they were closer to my face, so close I didn't know what to do. I couldn't move for a while, I just stared, then after I got back to my senses, I dashed forward and ran off. But again, being the child I was, I stopped by the door to look back, they were gone; I heard a dark, and devilish laugh. I ran off, needless to say.

i on and off see a figure with red eyes watching me sleep. sometimes next to my bed sometimes at the end of my bed. its whispers things to me i cant understand and i can sence it getting angered if anyone else sleeps in my room. one time it acctually got in bed with me. i felt a hand running up my leg and and thought it was my best friend i jokingly yelled at her but she was across the room wich was wen i freaked out..... it hasnt been around to much but i know it watches me

yes I saw them too when I was very young..I think I was 4. I was laying in bed asleep on the bottom bunkbed when I awoke to a long sharp stroke going down the back of my neck....this happened a few times. I turned around to see what was doing this and there they were...two huge red eyes. I was so paralyzed with fear that I couldn't scream or move away from it. I turned my head towards the wall again and closed my eyes and prayed for it to go away. ....and that was all I remember except the buttons on the back of my nighty were open the next morning. And yes I lived in the country as well in a house that my father built. I am now 42 and still have fears it will come back.

ya i believe u saw it cuz i did too and i was with my brother and we were going to sleep and we saw it out the glass door in our room it was so wierd we both screamed and ran around and then it went away like 15 seconds later or something and my dad came in like 5 or so seconds after it went away i was about 7 or 8 i cant really remember and i wasnt half or fully sleeping cuz we both screamed at the same time and we both still remember it before i wasnt sure if it was real or just my dad or something because he always makes up stupid stories like that and lies about it but now i see that a bunch of people saw the same thing i wonder if its an alien or like bigfoot or something... lol

Dreams feel real.

Well I don't know how much I believe in that stuff but my son and his wife moved into a very nice neighborhood after he finished dental school. All kinds of strange things started happening like scratching on the door, the 3 you old seeing a woman in his closet with "mushy cheeks" and dirt on her face, the vacuum cleaner turning on and off and one nite her computer crashed, the burgled ala went off and the back bedroom floor was freezing cold . The next day she asked an MD that lived in the nhood if anything like that happeded in any other houses. He said it happened all the time b/ c the subdivision was built over a potters field where they bury poor people. Just before they moved their neighbor put her house up for sale. She said she couldn't sleep b/c there was music coming out of her closet. Maybe something wants you out of the house.

demons do exist,but there not the mosters youve been told,they are human souls with a mind,only sadistic ones would get pleasure sacring a little kid.your halucinating/dreaming whatever,its not a demon tho

I hate to say it, but I had exactly the same experience when i was a kid some 22 some-odd years ago /- when I was around 6. I couldn't breathe, scream, nothing. I remember my mom being outside my room, and I was really wishing she would come into my room and make the damn thing go away. I couldn't help but hide under my covers. It was the beginning of a whole bunch of more experiences that even get more weird, where was not even sure if I was completely awake or not.

But this is the first time I've ever come across with anyone experiencing the same thing. Not to scare you, and I'm not pulling shit out my ass.

However I do have adult onset epilepsy that came on 10 years ago but I can't see any corolation to that.

hehe. Think we've all had those dreams at some point. Guessing mine was soon after a Star Wars film! You know the little guys...

Much the same thing, but nowhere under the bed to hide. Dreamt I'd woken up in the night. Initially a sensation of "evil", and movement or something. Looked down the bottom of the bed where I felt the movement had come from and found two sets of red eyed short black figures looking back at me. All I could see was the glowing eyes. The rest was more shadow. Naturally scared was the first reaction. Head under covers in panic. Thoughts started to race...

Slightly strange outlook. I've never taken stereotypes and what I've been told at face value. For some reason (physics interest started early), I considered that the feeling of evil might not be real, maybe static or something.. tingly. Wondered how i'd feel if I met with that reaction all the time, and considered that I should be welcoming.

Held breath and shakily looked back trying to calm them.

Instant change in dream. Happy feeling.. drifting past all sorts of weird figures including yetis, things with tentacles etc. Next things, in a huge cavern full of "sort of kids".. kinda like dwarves but childlike with stunning blue eyes all looking up at me happily.

Short version.. paranormal? Probably not. Electrical activity in the brain? Probably.. it's there most of the time after all. Sceptic? Maybe. Open minded. Does it mean anything? Who knows. Lessons learnt? Perhaps just that faced with the unknown, other cultures and beliefs, however it fits with your model and the way you have been raised, approach all with openness and calm, not panic and blind judgement. That's not a lesson for the paranormal. That's a lesson in how you face life!

Look I can tell all of you who told a story like this your. It crazy stuff like this really does happen. Why you might ask because God, Satan, angles, demons they r all real there have been many stories of kids seeing HEAVON or ppl seeing hell its truth. And I u did see some thing then you are. Blessed because that was probably the spirit of the person who died in the house because their spirit is stuck there idk why but it's true. I've almost died many of times and I can tell u Christ is real and did die on the cross so u did see what you think you saw or maybe it wasn't that bad or may e it was worse who knows well just ask Jesus Christ you Lord, God, and you Savior to not let you see that again

could have just been an animal or something that glowed red. it also could b something like a reflecter or lite from outside.

Is it normal to see red eyes in the dark. Let me respond with this, Is it normal to halucinate demonic images?
