Normal to prefer women floorlength dresses over short shorts?

Is it normal that I prefer seeing old fashioned women in floorlength dresses over modern women in short shorts or skirts? I prefer old films and music over modern too. To me, seeing old-fashioned women in floorlength skirts presents an image of a more innocent, respectful time when women were more soft spoken and traditionally feminine. I'm just wondering how normal it is today in 2017 about prefering to see women in floorlength dresses over 21st century women in short shorts, lowcut tops, anything revealing.

    • Sorry, won't find them around me. Lol. I know you're being funny, it's all good on that. But, like I said in my long comment, it is the whole picture of today verses the whole picture of 62+ years ago. The old fashioned times were anything before around 1955. Argumentatively, the birth of rock in the late 1950s may've been when it started to change, but the late 1960s revolution years is when there were bigger changes (and whenever the 1960s hit "short shorts" came out), but it's been a gradual change every decade since, to where we finally are today with sex obsessed everything, internet porn, even regular family TV stations not being afraid to casually talk about sex out loud, most people in real life wearing their sexual emotions on their sleeves and revealing clothes and it all now being the norm.

  • I'm not sure if anyone has gotten the point of my question. I am not wondering or using my imagination on what is under the dress. I am saying that I like the sight of seeing an old fashioned woman in a floorlength dress more than a modern woman in short shorts, etc. because I feel to me it paints a picture of an old fashioned, more innocent world when people cared more about looking respectable and didn't feel the need to expose as much of their bodies as possible. It was an age where most women were OK about saving sex til marriage and it was an age where people were not nearly as obsessed with sex as they are today. Of course, they wanted to make love to whoever they fell in love with and wanted to marry, but they were OK about waiting til then. There were lots of other things important to them besides sex. Women in general were more soft spoken, less aggressive, and had more respectful and caring attitudes, and they were less obsessed with sex and less obsessed with anything that had any relation to sex including their desires, attitudes, and their clothes. And that's where the old fashioned floorlength dresses vs. revealing clothes of women today come into it. The old fashioned dresses paints the picture of everything I explained above about how it all was back then.
I know I am not going to find alot of people today in the 2017 world of today who share my thoughts, but I still was curious if there still may be a few people who think that way or at least can understand where I am coming from on all of this.

Physical appearance is a preference. Asking people if it's normal for you to prefer dresses over shorts is like asking people if it's normal to like the color red.

    • There is more to this than just discussing my preference between a red or green dress. I know you posted this comment before I wrote the long comment I wrote back. That explains what I am meaning with all of this.
