Normal to prefer old fashioned women to modern women?

I loved the way women looked in the early 1900s in those classy, beautiful floorlength dresses they wore back then. I prefer that to the skimpy way women dress today. And I prefer how women acted much softer and traditionally feminine back then compared to the much more assertive and often arrogant way so many women today act. Old fashioned women were also definitely more respecting and considerate towards others than modern women. I just would much rather be in the first half of the 20th century around old fashioned women in floorlength dresses than modern women in short shorts and low cut tops.

    I think this is pretty normal. It sounds like your attraction to old-fashioned style women is stemming from your desire to find someone gentle, caring and modest - which is no bad thing. I've got to say, women (and people in general) nowadays are a lot more over the top and "bitchy" for want of a better word

      That's right, I would love an old fashioned woman around my age (40s) to have a romantic relationship with, but I know that today it's gonna be like trying to dig for gold, extremely unlikely. Women back then definitely acted much nicer, and those old fashioned dresses were a symbol of the nicer more old fashioned behavior, you couldn't have one without the other. As for the clothing, it wasn't just the women back then, both men and women dressed more classy. Men wore suits and ties, even in the summer. I just can't help but wonder how hot they felt dressed formally in a suit even when it was 95 degrees outside, and there was no air conditioning anywhere. There were things that were tougher back then, but to me, it would've all been worth it to be back in a world without all the messed up "I don't care anymore" attitudes of today.

    Women did drink and have fun 100 years ago, such as at the speakeasies, but a) that was only a certain class of women, and b) even they had more of a code of decent behaviors and manners than women today, and they were still more soft, feminine, and wore dresses. And they definitely had less of an arrogant bitchiness and that "I'll use em just to get what I want" attitude. And the non speakeasy woman, which was a much higher percentage than the percentage of decent behaving women today, really were the more sweet old fashioned feminine type of women. Those types made up of about 75% of women back then, and those types today are about 2% of women, maybe even less. Floorlength dresses today are rare, outside of a woman on her wedding day, which is also now a much less common sight. 100 years ago, the majority of women wore floorlength dresses. To me, it's just a sweet old fashioned sight. I know that my thinking this way at age 43 in the year 2018 is certainly in the minority (outside of nursing homes) but I don't care, this is how I feel, wanting a world back with women of all ages being like they were back in the first half of the 1900s.

      I know it's the modern age and that it's now impossible to make the world back to how it once was, but it's still good to wish and dream.

          Yeh. I guess as long as you don't wish so hard to where you start expecting for your wishes to come true, cause then you will be disappointed.

      There are some decent behaving people today, but not as many anymore. And many more people today who are acting nice are usually doing so with an ulterior motive rather than just doing it because they care about others. The latter was once much more common than today.

    For many women it seems their definition of being equal and self empowered was/is too pick up some of the the worse and least desirable attributes usually associated with men. And they call that progress.

      Yeh, I know. It's good that women have been able to get more assertive, but too many of them couldn't do it without also becoming mean, belligerent, and thinking that they can do whatever they want without caring if they're hurting anybody.

    Women nowadays are skanks, mostly. They say they just want sexual freedom and it's inspiring to act like the biggest hoe on the planet but in reality it's disgusting.

    Men too, by the way.

    Ye dude I feel you, feminism has destroyed the modern woman. There have been studies done and even they prefer traditional gender roles, happiness for women has been consistently dropping year on year and when surveyed, homemakers were found to the job that statistically had the highest happiness rates.
