Normal to dream about gaming?

When I'm really into a game, I will play it for several hours and then dream about it the same night. Most of the time, they're intense and I wake up in the middle of the night, see that my computer is shut off, and I try to go back to sleep again. But the thing is, the dream repeats itself and I wake up another 4 or 5 times to check that my computer is off. It's not like a nightmare because once I wake up from one of those, I will dream about something else right after. Also this only happens to me after I play games, not when I watch tv shows or movies.

Does anyone else experience multiple, repetitive dreams about a game they play?

Yes it's normal, when you sleep your brain dreams about everything thats happened in the day and will manifest itself into a dream, some can be literal dreams and some can have hidden meanings. Because your playing so much of a game, it's all your brain has been focusing on and hence dreams about it. it used to happen to me if i played for more than a few hours, but it's not healthy to be playing for several hours especially if your dreams are so intense. maybe cut down your hours of playing or try and do something else just before you go to bed :)

This is very normal -- I get it all the time.

This is a symptom known as the Tetris Effect. Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

i also gotta admit though, after fever weared off after 2 days, my mind was like so so damn quiet and calm - like total heaven man in the mind!!!

like usually some shit always will come in ur mind - some thoughts you just can't stop coming - random thoughts...
but after that incident, my mind has been like well so calm...its like being high without getting too dizzy

and oh,for comparison, its way better then what you get after 1 hr of meditation...

well i gotta agree, i dream a lot man, a lot when i intensely play nfs carbon and gta sa

one day i was driving like crazy hell, polic in pursuit of me,adrenaline all high up etc, brain sweating so hard and feeling so damn hot
and believe me bro - i finally broke out of it-broke the pursuit, cooleddown in the game, and woke up,found it was 4'o clock in morning, and head was thumping like damn! it was going to burst my nerves out ! couldn't breathe properly, felt so so so hot i turned the ac on quickly, walked to the bathroom like a dying man(and i mean it), and i felt i got fever - checked - 102degree c !!!!!!

so i gotta tell you never play it in excess never more then like 2 hours man
    it screws up your mind

in gta sa,i keep on travelling on the freeangel bike but those dreams have never been that intense and brain-fucking

When you play games for a long period of time, your brain is always thinking about the game. It will get stuck in your head even after you finish.

Example: a person played 'The Sims' for hours on end, daily. Once they stopped playing it, the game was still stuck in their head and their everyday life was beginning to be like the game. For example, when they needed to go to the toilet, they would think that their 'bathroom level' was going down.

With all the addicting games out there, it is not suprising that people cannot shut it out of their mind.

If you keep dreaming about the game, try not playing it so much or fill in your time with different games, or even better, physical activity. This will get your mind thinking about other things.
