You just disagree with their choice of music. They likely think the same about you.
It takes time and exposure to learn about other kinds of music, and growing up as well.
As an example... while non-musicale. As a teenager and younger man I had no use for Ballet. My wife introduced me to Ballet at a much older age... and I really like it now.
I grew up listening to classical music and have always appreciated that. But the various musicale genres... its hit and miss.
