Seems nowadays it's normal, sadly. When I was a young manager, we were taught to respect and value our employees, and thy inturn would do their very best for us. Now the norm is squeeze the most out of them for as little as possible, and if they quit, replace them with temps. We haven't gotten a raise in 6 years, but the big muckie-mucks gave themselves $56,000 in bonuses.
