4 years is a huge age gap to you? Damn, good thing you weren't born back in the day when women were encouraged to marry or promised to men 10+ years older then them.
Anyway, maturity is based on actions and decisions, not entirely age. If this 24 year old is making good decisions and taking action to further himself and his future, then good job, he's worth a try. Ask important questions and see where he is in life, don't hold back.
