I wouldn't treat them like shit or anything, and they'd have a place to sleep and all that.
They wouldn't be treated like vermin.
At best they'd be required to help me clean, once the chores are done for the day, they're free to do whatever they'd like (as long as it wasn't harming themselves or others, including animals.)
