No period in almost 3 months? -not pregnant

Anyone else went this long or even longer? I’m a college student so I stress pretty often. I just recently started working out and eating different. Any advice? Went to a doctor about a month ago they have no idea why it’s not here either. Already ruled out that I’m not pregnant thankfully. I did take a plan B in January though not even a week after my period ended. That was my last period.

    Were you regular before?

Plan B can mess with your periods. Also if you've lost a lot of weight this can stop them.

Also if you're at college around other girls you may start to sync up with their cycle which means you may miss a period sometimes. I know that sounds crazy but it has happened to me enough times in my life in close quarters with new women to know that there's something to it.

Go back to the doctor and say you still haven't had your period. They should investigate further.

    • I’ve missed a period maybe once a year in the past 3 years but never two. Getting really scared and worried which I know can make it worse I was hoping to sync with my roommate lol. But so far she’s been getting hers and I’m not. She told me she’s went almost a whole semester without hers and she was fine.

I think this is normal. I’ve gone like 3 months without a period when I worked out a lot and was very busy. When you change your diet and physical activity habits your hormones change too, I say just give it time but if it persists more follow up with your doctor

Yeah, I went through this recently. Just got my period back last month.

Much like you, I was very stressed. For me, I was randomly thrown into my new position at work in the middle of our busiest time of the year. My boss wasn't very understanding and pressured me a lot to get better right away. As a result, my body just lost it. No period. Weight gain. Fatigue. It was bad.

I went to the GYN, and they couldn't find another medically wrong. I had my IUD for years so I knew I wasn't pregnant, but I've taken a home pregnancy test and got tested at the doctor to be sure. Not pregnant. They informed me that stress + birth control can cause unique affects. Once the stressful situation was resolved, my period came back and my body is feeling better.

As for Plan-B, I've taken it a few times before I got stable birth control. Normally, the effects will only last a few days not months. However, there's a certain window of time you must take it as mentioned on the package to prevent pregnancy. I read that you know you aren't pregnant, but schedule a pregnancy test at the doctors to double check again. As for your stress, start drinking plenty of water and find stress relieving techniques/exercises to do for a hour if possible. Also, nice diet change!

    • Thanks, it’s hard to maintain the new diet but it’s a start. I just actually double checked another test today still negative. Went back to the doctor. I am about 100% sure I’m not pregnant which is great.

It's not uncommon to miss a period or two, or even have your period stop if you have had a significant weight loss, an increase on exercise, decrease in caloric intake, and or increase in stress.

    • Stress has definitely increased with homework and grades, I only lost 5 pounds so far my calorie intake is different but this started in March it’s been since January since my period was here.

You should probably see a doctor.

    • More like scared. I’d rather bleed every month with a sack of painful cramps knowing my body is working properly than just no reaction for almost 3 months after taking a big ass dose of hormones to prevent pregnancy....

Are you on a vegan diet? Vegan diets have been known to do that.

        • Uhhh...well before two weeks ago it was pretty shitty. But now I eat a lot of baked and grilled chicken salad fruit water cranberry juice. Hardly anything fried or greasy.
