In my religion owls are messengers. Depends what color they are. Black is not good, brown is medium message, they say a white owl simply stands watch. That he or she stares at you is (like Lockets said) to see if you won't harm it. They are very alert, but don't hurt it. Owls are harmless. If they turn out to be just that (messengers) the less reason to hurt it. I know this may sound weird to some of you, but that is what I was taught. I agree with Lockets on the nature part too: Enjoy it. I wouldn't mind an owl around. Would love to keep one, but I don't have the space :)
