I was about to write and tell you that I was the same - except I passed my baby over to be looked after at 8 weeks old when I went back to work - maternity leave is very short in my country. I was devastated but had to do it! But what I could not do was leave him with anyone else for my pleasure - when he was 10 months, my mum babysat him whilst he was sleeping so my husband and I could go out and celebrate my birthday but I just worried the whole time and we were only out for an hour! I have relaxed a little and we do use a babysitter but it is the same one every time and I have known her for 7 years and I trust her. Other people offer all the time but I would not let them anywhere near him. My son is 5. I think you are just looking after your precious baby and that you are the only person that can do that properly. You will decide when the time is right for you. You will eventually want to go out and you will find someone you can trust but I can completely and utterly understand how you feel. You are a perfectly normal mother.
