I had it, it's only dangerous to babies and older people. They don't even give you anything for it, just tell you to take something to keep the fever down.
The only real concern is keeping the fever down though, it's a virus, so you just have to wait it out if you do get it.
It sucks really bad. And I did have little trouble breathing for a couple days.
