My son isn't happy that i moved him in with his brothers

He's 14, the other two are 7 and 9. I recently started working from home full time as a contractor and I really needed a quiet office space so I moved him in with his brothers who sleep on a bunk bed. We had to put most of his personal stuff in storage since his brothers' room is only about 8' x 8'. He is sleeping on the floor now. His brothers step on him when they wake up or use the bathroom.

Should I consider the attic for his room instead? It's only 3 feet high in the middle with exposed insulation and gets extremely hot in the summer but I thought maybe it could work with a little cardboard stapled over the insulation.

Is It Normal?

  • Don't you have a kitchen cupboard he could live in?

  • Give the poor boy his room back and you move your junk/office to the attic, teens need thier own space.

  • I'd be mad too if I was constantly being stepped on. If he's 14 he should have his own room, not have to share with two small children. Personal space is important.

  • I don't mean to sound like an asshole since I'm sure you're trying your best for them, but I can understand why he'd feel angry about it, that is very very cramped.

  • Boys are territorial. Hopefully you have a plan to move them when they reach top puberty time.

Do not I say do not use the attic as a bedroom for multiple safety reasons.

Think of moving houses growing boys need space.

Maybe the couch in the lounge room would be better.
