Some of them grow out of it. I used to believe in those conspiracy theories as well, when I was younger. I think the political and cultural climate of America (I'm assuming you're from the US) is particularly conducive to people developing belief in these kinds of conspiracies, especially if the person lives in a location where fundamentalist Christianity with its emphasis on a literal Revelation-style apocalypse is prominent. The educational level of our country's citizens and the crap that passes for news in this country probably also have an effect.
