My roommate sucks at taking care of animals, iin?

My roommate recently got a ten dollar turtle from china town and hasn't been properly taking care of it. I keep telling her that a) the turtle needs a heat lamp because its cold blooded and will die if its not warm. b) it needs a rock to bask on. c) she keeps dropping it out of her hands. I know its none of my business but if theres gonna be any kind of pet in OUR room, I expect it to be healthy (and not dead). Am I overreacting for something thats not officially mine? Should I let it go?

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • No don't let it go. You're a nice kid. I'm glad you're concerned about that animal. If she keeps dropping it out of her hand it's not gonna live too long(I'm picturing her like the evil little brat in Finding Nemo). So, I doubt she can take care of it. If this keeps up convince her to release it in a suitable place.

  • Heres my advice, maybe YOUR should take care of it, you could also in the middle of the night sneak out and give it some light for a little.

    • its okie... it already died. Whether it be from her neglecting to take care of it, or because it was illegal and in poor condition to begin with, we will never know.

  • Some people look at pets as toys. If I were you I'd steal it and take it back to a pet store where it will get proper care. Let her think the turtle" ran away" cause she was a bad owner-- she sounds dumb enough to possibly believe that.

    • I wish I could say that but the store she got it from probably wont be any better than now... She got it from a convient store.

  • Is the idea here that you went away to college and as a freshman you were paired with some dipshit to live with in a tiny dorm room? My cousin had that happen. The room must have been as small as a prison cell. Actually probably smaller.

  • C) is the only real problem and you should mind your own business.
