My pet is crazy

It's not normal. Dogs aren't randomly aggressive as a general rule.
I have an extremely aggressive dog, but he has a neurological condition.

just throwing that out there: I know a good percentage of cats(1 in 20 or so) is allergic to humans.
They are highly anti-social as a result and quickly learn that contact with humans is "bad".
Maybe something like that also exists for dogs? Does he cuddle up or let someone else pet him? If neither, there may either be a problem in his upbringing or he may simply be allergic to you.

He's just anti-social. He probably wasn't handled or stroked much as a pup.

some dogs just dont like to be pet. just let him come to you when he/she feels like it and your pet will be much more calm and will let you pet them

Moonbow, why would it matter if they were pit bull. I guarantee you that dog isn't because pit bulls are the most loving breed!

Ceaser Millan really is a smart fella and what he does isnt rocket science either, most of it is common sense and if done properly, dogs usually respond almost straight away but you have to be CONSISTENT, once your start this training, you need to keep doing it. its instinct for the dog to try to challenge you.

Listen to what aussiewolf said. Also if you can you should really watch The Dog Whisperer and It's Me or the Dog. They help a lot. Also you should get the book called Be the Pack Leader my Ceaser Millan (The Dog Whisperer). Some dogs take a lot of training.

You should also have it seen by a vet. I had a chow chow who was very agressive to my miniture schnauzer and it turned out that she had a birth defect and her spine turned into one big bone and her agression was do to her pain.

So there can be several different things going on but most likley it's because it doesn't see you as the pack leader, so once you get the hang of being the pack leader your dog will respect you.

Did you ever pick on him? My first husband made his mothers poodle so vicious, she had to het rid of him. I felt very sorry for the dog. He was one of the smartest dogs I ever saw and would have been a perfect pet if he had been treated right.

maybe he doesnt see you as his pack leader. one mistake a lot of people make is thinking that their dog is human. but they need the stability of knowing that you are their pack leader. dont go beating the crap out of your dog, you just need to show leadership. google ways to show you how to be the pack leader.

We were nice to him all the time and fed him and played but when I go to pet him he growls.

makes me wonder what you did to your dog when it was younger for it to react to you like that....

Pets can be unpredictable. when angry dos he bite or anything like that. id go to a vet anyway.

Is he a pit bull?
