my story is that my parents just recently figured out that my girlfriend is bi
and so they think that they can just
come in and say that i should break up with her and threat they used was that if i didnt they would tranfer me out the school we attend and cut all communications by sending me to jobcorps in kentucky

p.s. im not breaking up with her i just wanna now if its normal

    Parents will do what they think is best for their child come hell or high water. The key word is THINK. For some reason they find her sexuality an issue. Can you all sit down and talk about why its an issue-not why they find it wrong..that could get ugly.

    How old are you? If you're an adult, there's nothing they can really do to stop you. If you're not an adult, all you can do is keep sticking to your guns and hope that they see sense.

    Believe me, parents know best. Didn't realize that until I moved away from home... not saying its wrong to be bi but you should have a mature talk with your parents about it.

    They sound like typical red-necks to be fair. I would conttinue to date her even if i didnt like her to piss them off. Its your life so make it wat you want. Date who you want to date regardless of their sexuality

    Most parents will try to have some degree of control over their kids, whether it seems fair or not. Not sure there's a whole lot you can do about it though. Do you think they're so homophobic they'll carry out the threat?
