I had a hard adolescence too with my parents, so I can relate. After my mom got married her husband influenced her to be materialistic so they cared more about money than family. It sucked, they were assholes. I left home at 18 with a bad self esteem and had a hard life getting to understand what life was all about, but finally by about 24 I was alright, My mom ended up getting a divorce, and they ended up miserable and my mom got mental problems. (I think its karma) I have no mental problems whatsoever, so it apparently wasn't anything hereditary, just karma. Anyway, I can feel your pain and understand, I'm sorry it's so hard for you. I'd say you ought to distract yourself by exercising, playing a sport, do something that takes care of YOU. That's what I wish I would have done at your age. Don't let your family adversely affect your self esteem. You have potential!
