  • It's not normal. First you gotta understand why they're acting like this. Maybe they're worried about you, which is probably the case. Try spending more time with them. Show them that you don't care and that you've got nothing to hide, but at the same time tell them you need some time alone. Reverse psychology should be helpful at times like these.

    • Kasei provided, IMHO, the best advice here so far. Look, it IS their house and it IS their rules. Get used to it. You're going to have someone else calling the shots in your life for MANY years to come. Yes, you'll have more autonomy as you get older and start paying your own way in life, but until then, you need to adjust your attitude to deal with the realities of family life. Kasei's advice to show them you have nothing to hide is excellent (but you'd better be sure to offload anything that you DO wanna hide). You can explain that you felt your privacy was being ignored and you still want to address that, but that you understand their concern so you've set them as admins. Unless they're in IT, in most cases you'll probably know better how to find stuff on the machine than they will.

As people said - it's two more years. Just decide NOT to let it ruin your life. Work with them and get past it. You'll all be better off.
