If AA has nothing to do with religion and they don't preach or talk about it; Why is their literature scattered with references to God? 'Give yourself over to a higher power' is one of their favorites. Sure, they use the justification techniques they all learned as addicts to say it doesn't mean God and a higher power can be anything. We know they mean God.

I know they preech religion I dont think ALL of them preech religion though.
