My mother watches & follows me around constantly

Its quite funny actually, but I am older now and I just found the comments on "my mother watches me" is it normal? Well I am glad and sad that others have the same problem. I also want to add that it doesn't get better. NO it is not normal and it can get very complicated. My mother not only watches me; if I get up early, she gets up early, if I go outside, she goes outside, if I leave my bedroom door open she looks in to see what I am doing. She watches my every move and I am much older now. She has even at times worn the same color as me. Nothing is sacred, no privacy and she will also discuss all my personal business with strangers. I have to be very careful and I have to hide any hobbies or activities from her in order to have some semblance of identity. The irony is she will hide everything from me and lie to me. I don't go out of my way to watch or ask anymore. She has caused some serious problems for all. She is not happy until I am unhappy and she lights up like it is Christmas. It can get so bad that I believe she has a form of Munchhausen. There is much more to this story, but if you can get away and keep your relationship and personal life at a distance do it. When I tried to leave she disowned me and turned all friends and family against me. It was awful, I didn't last and ended back up with her. Now I just struggle it is pathetic. If you are young enough but old enough to leave on your own, don't feel guilty your life is your own and you have to live it. Enjoy it without the umbilical cord.

Well damn. Were you guys very close when you were younger? Was she ever extremely protective of you?

Wow! Does your mom have a mental disease (serious question)? I would say if shes hurting you mentally or physically (police involved) you need to get out. You just gave people a pep talk to just leave (move out) or you can just asking her why she's treats you like that. Don't feel guilty she's the one causing it. You may have to lose your family and friends to have a better life.
