I just learned today that my mother spent all the money she was going to give me for my wedding. She even gave away the wedding present she was also going to give me. She did this because apparently " it's to late". I'm 21, and still in college with my boyfriend who said he wanted us to finish college before we got married.
You're a very smart girl, but it's a shame your mother did something so stupid. If your BF is serious, and wants to wait, go for it. Far too many people get horny, get married, breed like rabbits, and then regret it and divorce by age 30. Usually leaving a woman single, and living in her parent's garage with a bunch of kids and food stamps. Sad, but true. It's statistics, and you can't argue with those. So get your education, get established and if you feel you might divorce, be sure to separate your assets early. You're already ahead of the game.
It's possible that by here standards ur an old maid...I mean, I'm ur age and my rents got married when they were a little younger than I am. I was actually born by re time my mom was my age, but ppl now get married much later. Most people I know waited until at least they got out of college, some even after graduate or professional school. I know several ppl who didnt start "looking" until nearly 30. So u have a serious bf, ur ahead of the game.
