I'd say they should be allowed to choose if they want to keep going to church. Or, maybe they can go every other week instead as a compromise.
I agree. It's not fair to force them to go simply because you, the parent, are a believer. Let them make up their own minds, rather than imposing your beliefs on them, especially with your 13 year old.
