I hope you don't actually hear the voice in your head as you read. That's a great way to dramatically reduce your reading speed. Most people would read a lot faster if they weren't taught to read by speaking along with the words. Even after you stop doing it out loud it's still the natural process in your head, and your vocal cords still try to make the sounds to a very small degree. If you really pay attention you can feel your vocal cords moving, and your throat may get sore during extended reading.
