Since september 2008 I have been sharing a flat with an indian guy, aged 25, who is attending his MBA , as I am, here in Geneva. Is it normal that everytime he comes out of his room the whole house begins smelling badly? is it normal that he has not made any laundry since september? Is it normal that he does not clean the kitchen after using it?
He is a dirty fucker. And has nothing to do with being indian you racist people.

Oh, and of course, you may indeed wish to tell him what the matter is, what would i do... *thinking hard* Id torch his clothes on fire while he is not looking and say it was a pyromaniac or something.. but that is me, you are better of being totally honest... Yeah I would probably be strict and cold: "Hey man, you need to shower, you smell... No this is not a laughing matter" "Oh your pissed? Well not my fucking problem, now get lost!"
Again if he gets violent just leave him be, he will get the message regardless.

I feel slightly horrible for saying that.
I'm Indian and all my relatives smell really bad, so do their houses. Same with our Indain family friends. It doesn't matter weather they live in India or America, they all smell REALLY bad. I have no idea why.
I don't mean to be racist, but I know alot of Indian people and they all smell bad. Too many to be a coincidence. The only one's who don't smell are the super white-washed ones like myself.

Asian people produce more sweat and more strongly smelling sweat because of the food that they traditionally eat.

You should just tell him he stinks and he needs to bathe and wash his clothes more often bcuz he's f'ng NASTY!
It may be a cultural thing. Try taking an interest in his culture to find out more. Just because he does not use deodarant now, does not meant that he is opposed to it, it might just mean that he does not realize how much it is a problem and how different it is in your culture.
He smells shit, and I am glad people say that being Indian has nothing to do about it, because it does not.
Then again they may have different customs in India, but really that is no excuse, if your gonna live in another country, you act like the rest, you don't like it? Well your homeland is waiting. Sounds racist? Ive lived 23 years in a country that is not mine by origin, now not so racist any more I hope...
Although disgusting, what we have to appreciate is that he originates from a Country where personal hygeine (or any hygeine, for that matter) is not as high on the agenda, as it is in USA/UK, etc. Would he be receptive to a blunt confrontation in relation to his stinking habits?
