Okay, so it makes more sense now. It's not so much his age, but his profession. If there's a cheaper way to do something, companies will do it despite how many lives it may affect.
He may need to think deeply about his next career and go back to college. However, in the meantime he may need to work anywhere he can until all this is sorted out. It sucks, but your neighbors aren't living with you, and they're probably miserable anyway which is why they would be up in your business. Just focus on your husband more than thinking about these people; brainstorm with him and more, cause he needs you now more than ever.
