  • i see your point, and i'm sure the scenario you describe is common. It was probably more common in the past, and is probably more common in rural areas, but I know it is still prevailant.

but in this case, the poster is obviously interested in pursuing the relationship. I don't even think in terms of fault or blame here, but more in terms of a stupid kid getting into a bad situation because she isn't thinking about consequence.

think about those girls who beat up the other girl on video in florida a few months back.

they were more than stupid, of course, they were mean and, in my opinion, deserve what came or will come to them. but what also strikes you is how oblivious they were to consequences. They committed felony assault, filmed it, planned on putting it on youtube, and it never occured to them they would get in serious trouble for any of it!

That's the kind of thinking I'm addressing. In that case, many people excused the girls actions because they were just "kids". But does being young excuse you from all responsibility? What if an adult had goaded those girls(in Florida) into committing the beating? would it have made them less responsible?

    • It doesnt matter if an adult told anyone to do something, if you do a crime you get punished no matter who told you to do it, sure the adult should get punished too for telling them to do something, but most of the punishment should be on whoever commits the crime.
