I'm a Mormon and believe me, some of us really have the wrong idea when it comes to homosexuality. It's difficult to understand unless you have been there and many truly straight people just can't fathom the concept, so they throw it away. Being that it is frowned upon in this religion (sadly) being that Dad is the bishop, he is probably embarassed. The Bishop should have the model family, and to the more conservative Mormons (which are the marjority, only 15% of us being progressives), a gay daughter is not a model family.
Keep on keeping on. I believe that if the two of you are committed and have the baby, that the baby will do well. Even a good conservative Mormon has more value for children and the family rites than to just allow their grandchildren to suffer because their parents didn't "choose the right" as they say. It'll be a difficult journey, and progressiveness has only begun to slowly penetrate the church, but if they are true and good Christians, they will learn to love and accept the two of you. If not, the cross is solely on their shoulders.
