This is what Wikipedia article about Heath Ledger says:
The report concludes, in part, "Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine."
Basically Ledger died due to synergistic effects of multiple narcotic painkillers, multiple benzos, plus a sedating antihistamine. This is a very common mistake which sends many a people(pro wrestlers especially) to their graves.
