My girlfriend dresses and dances like michael jackson...

Alright

Well my girlfriend is very physically active, she's both a martial artist and a dancer; she's been doing both since she was a kid, she's very beautiful and i'm proud to have someone like her. She's currently attempting to become a professional dancer and in a few months time her website will be launched.

She truly is a magnificent dancer, but heres the thing. She sometimes performs Michael Jackson imitations, she dances just like him, when dressed up properly she can actually pull off the look (she ends up looking a bit like Michael during the bad era but with boobs and a feminine figure), but seeing her do so. dressing up like him, dancing just like him bothers me.

I dont know why but it just disturbs me a bit, i feel like i'm going out with Michael Jackson; she is a fan so much so that during her prom she didnt even wear a prom dress, she dressed up like Michael Jackson during Smooth Criminal and imitated the segment during her prom. Now i didnt know her back then, but i see pictures of that event, and videos of her dance i am both amazed by her talent but also disturbed.

Is it normal? What should i do?

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • LOL, that's the weirdest thing ever. She needs to see a psychiatrist. Tell her you're not comfortable with her doing that, and she should limit it to actual performances or just do it when nobody is around. I hate Michael Jackson, I don't have the slightest idea as to why anyone would want to dress up and behave like him. HEE-HYEE *touches crotch*

  • Did Michael Jackson ever molest you?

  • I think it's cool that she impersonates MJ. I do a little bit of it myself :-) If you really love her, you'll support her. MJ is and always will be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hiya,

Are you an MJ fan?? If you aren't it might be best to call it a day.

  • I'd say not to worry about it until she wants to buy a Llama! ;)

It might be a good idea to avoid being at events where she does her impersonations. I can see how that could get into your brain a little bit. You might even start seeing MJ's features in her face when she's not dressed up like him

No sense ruining her fun by asking her to stop, and she probably wouldn't anyway. Maybe the easy thing to do here would be to make her impersonation time "her" time, and your time together is when she's comfortably dressed as herself.

  • Hahah I find that cool actually, since I'm a big Michael Jackson fan. It's kinda like those female Elvis impersonators, but yeah I reckon that there's going to be a trend of MJ impersonators in the future, and eventually, your GF is going to be famous among them for being one of the first!

  • yeah i can see how that would be disturbing, idk what kind of person she is or how she would take it but maybe let her know?

  • Yup, sounds about right. It's about time for all the Elvis impersonators to retire finally, now they have something better to do! LOL!

Tell her that you like her dancing, but the Jackson thing makes you feel uncomfortable. Tell her to let him rest in peace finally. God knows most of the rest of us are tired of hearing about him all over the TV by now.

  • Yes it's normal for your girlfriend to be drawn to such an amazing human being such as MJ.
